» Looking at it as a whole, this has opened up significant savings potential in terms of the operating costs for our forklift fleet. There has also been a considerable drop in the number of operating faults recorded, as well as damage to batteries and battery chargers since we have been using Fronius technology. «

Your advantages: ENERGY-EFFICIENT AND GENTLE ON THE BATTERY
With the individual Ri charging process, Selectiva battery chargers from Fronius achieve an overall efficiency of up to 84 percent. This not only allows you to charge batteries much more effectively, but also to reduce damage and thus maintenance costs. The overcharging, which leads to faster contamination of the battery, to more water consumption and to the development of dangerous oxyhydrogen, can be avoided with this gentle charging process.
EFFICIENCY
Charger |
device x charge = | total |
50Hz-chargers | 80% x 70% | 56% |
HF-chargers | 92% x 80% | 74% |
Fronius Selectiva | 93% x 90% | 84% |
Efficiency benefit = | 10 - 28% |
With the Ri charging process, Fronius offers the best technology available on the market for charging lead-acid traction batteries. Unlike others, this process does not follow a fixed characteristic, but adapts individually to each individual battery. This ensures maximum energy efficiency and a long battery life. In 2013, the Ri charging process went into series production with the new generation of our Selectiva battery chargers. Since then he has been successfully deployed in numerous well-known companies from various industries.
Ri charging process - the advantages summarized
With the Ri charging process, every charging process is unique with an individual characteristic curve.
This customized charging reduces harmful battery heating to a minimum.
The cooler temperature during charging ensures a longer battery life - and this in turn for significantly lower operating costs.
The innovative Ri charging process does not follow a fixed characteristic but adapts individually to the age, temperature and state of charge of the battery.
This reduces the overload and thus the energy loss during charging.
With a total efficiency of up to 84%, Fronius devices significantly reduce power consumption and help operators save up to 30% on energy costs.
With Fronius you can operate different trucks with one and the same charger - this reduces operating costs and simplifies the processes in your company.
Operating errors due to the wrong allocation of battery and charger are almost impossible.
In addition, by standardizing your charging technology for future changes, such as growing your business, you are well prepared.
Lower overcharging thanks to the Fronius Ri charging process results in significantly reduced gassing of the battery. A gassing could cause a spark reaction (e.g. when disconnecting the charging plug without first pressing the "stop" button), which could cause harm to both man and machine.
Increase the safety of operating your industrial truck fleet with Ri technology!
The Ri charging process responds to the condition of the battery, so there is less overcharging and battery water consumption drops.
This can save up to 40% of water requirements.
HOW DOES THE RI CHARGING PROCESS WORK?
The Ri charging process determines the condition of your battery by means of its effective inner resistance (Ri) and adapts the charging characteristic accordingly. The resistance of the battery depends on its age, temperature and state of charge. Each charging cycle is therefore unique and has its own individual characteristic. In the charging phase, the battery only receives as much current as it actually needs. This greatly reduces both energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Charging losses when charging commences and during the recharging phase can virtually be avoided.
The Ri charging process also reduces warming during charging, which can lastingly damage the battery. This reduces faults, lengthens the service life of your batteries and lowers the total operating costs of your forklift truck system.
